Parenting – Where Our Story Begins.
I was born and raised in Japan.
My husband was born in the United States and raised in a British family.
We grew up in completely different countries, speaking different languages, surrounded by different cultures.
And yet, through meeting, marrying, and building a life together, I have come to realize something deeply meaningful.
Despite our differences, the values our families hold dear are remarkably similar.
Our parents come from different cultural backgrounds and speak different languages.
Still, they often say the same thing:
what truly matters as human beings — how we treat others, how we care for family — is the same.
Kindness.
Respect.
Gratitude for family, and the importance of supporting one another.
Because we share these core values, we have been able to cross cultural boundaries and build our family with a sense of trust and peace.
For that, I am deeply grateful.
Now, as a parent, I want to cherish these invisible yet essential values and pass them on to our children.
I want them to grow up knowing that even when languages and cultures differ, what truly matters at the heart of being human can be the same.
Through this blog, I hope to share our journey of parenting —
quietly, thoughtfully, and with gratitude — grounded in the values we continue to carry forward as a family.
